This is not a regular R8. For the first time in history, the Audi Sport division master-crafted a Dark Horse. The naturally aspirated V10 roars to life at well over 8,500 rpm, driven by REAR WHEELS ONLY—hence the name "RWS - Rear Wheel Series."
Unlike the R8 Quattro and the Plus, the RWS model is not only rear-wheel drive, but it also benefits from a 50kg weight reduction from the front end. A titanium sports exhaust, 20-inch forged wheels as standard, calibrated steering, and a revised suspension system—all making this car a thrill to drive both on the road and track.
Handling is mighty impressive. The front end feels planted, giving incredible feedback to the driver and steers perfectly into corners. There's a really good balance at the rear; it can be tail-happy but also very sharp and grippy if you want it to be, thanks to the wide 305 Pirelli P ZERO tyres.
With only 999 units produced worldwide, and just 40 units delivered to Australia, this is a true collector's item.
It passed a very thorough 115-point inspection at Audi Centre with no negative feedback.
